Emotions

Image
Emotions aren't good or bad, they simply are a part of life.  They are a natural and instinctive reaction or state of mind based on a given circumstance, situation, or mood at any given time.  For instance tears are a byproduct of emotions, but they aren't associated only with one emotion.  They can be a part of them all.   How do we manage our emotions?  So often people tend to try and hide their emotions, almost as if they are ashamed of them.  Learning how to handle and cope with our emotions is a process that takes time.  Each emotion requires different techniques and we all handle them differently, but if we don't face them and feel them they will eat us up inside and we will eventually explode in a very bad way.   I've been that person who wanted to hide my emotions or even have attempted to bury them deeply.  I felt that my emotions were a sign of weakness.  However, I now know better, in fact I have learned that ...

Father's Day

Image
Happy Father's Day to all the dad's out there as well as all those who have taken on the role of dad for others! For me, my Daddy is truly my hero!  I love getting to celebrate him, because he deserves to know how utterly important he is.  He is the first man I ever loved and from the beginning he has taught me so much.  He never ceases to tell and show me how much he loves me or how important his family is to him.  He has sacrificed over and over to care for us and he always puts his family first.   His sacrifices were not unnoticed and through those sacrifices I learned what love and care should look like.  He taught me the importance of keeping your word as well as what it looks like when you have a kind giving heart.   He is also the very first to tell people how proud he is of me and to brag when I earn an honor or get recognized for something.  He does this for all his family including, my mom, my brother, sister-in-law, and...

Flag Day

Image
"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." June 14th is Flag Day here in the USA! Our beautiful American flag, respectfully named "Old Glory" with her stars and stripes, represents so much and should hold a place a reverence and respect in the hearts of all Americans. When I see her waving in the breeze I smile, because she means so much. My parents taught me from a very young age what she means and the price so many have paid to insure she still stands and waves today. There are rules that must be followed when handling Old Glory, such as you never let her touch the ground and you do NOT burn her.  If you are interested in learning proper flag etiquette I recommend you visit your local VFW or their website at:  Flag Etiquette - VFW   I'm thankful that I grew up in a time when we started every school morning by standin...

Self-care is a Necessity

Image
Anyone who works with me or hears me speak regarding my business, will hear a great deal about self-care and its importance.  When we continue to give to others and sacrifice our need to recharge we can find ourselves dealing with more and more personal issues. I have been pouring myself into work and building my business as well as giving to clients and family quite extensively. Don't get me wrong, I love my career path and I practice regular self-care on a small scale; such as reading a book, writing, listening to music, enjoying a cup of tea, taking a hot bubble bath, etc. All of these help, they allow me to step away and find a sense of peace. However, when there are situations that constantly suck the life from you and you can't find a sense of peace you need something more!  I started to feel that need for more a few months ago, but I chalked it up to "winter blues". They lessened as spring weather presented itself, but still that nagging exhausted f...
