Memorial Day

Image
On this beautiful Memorial Day I want to remind everyone why it is we celebrate this day. At all times we need to be thankful of our military, but on Memorial Day we honor those who paid the ultimate price for our freedoms! We are blessed to live in the greatest country in the world because many men and women paid the price of freedom with their lives.  Whatever you do today, however you choose to celebrate this holiday, I ask that you please take a moment, and offer a "thank you" and a prayer for the families who sacrificed their precious loved one.  Remember and teach your children what it cost so they can live in a free country. Teach them of their freedoms and help them to stand up for those freedoms, fighting to hold onto what this country truly stands for. This world and this country does not owe you, but we owe this country. If we're not willing to pay that ultimate price we'll lose everything other's fought so hard to secure for us!  GOD BLESS ...

Isaiah 49:16

Image
We all have a favorite verse in the Bible or maybe several favorites. Many areas of the Bible have given me strength, comfort, support, and guidance throughout my journey, but Isaiah 49:16 is probably my favorite single verse.  Consider this verse and the actual words "I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands". To be graven means I'm permanently in His hands, I'm in them so securely and so deeply I can NEVER be removed. What a comfort what a sheer peace to know nothing and no one, not even my own failures can remove me from God's hands!  When I consider all the things I have learned and know about God and His love this verse tells me so much. My hope and my knowledge in God tells me that I'm His and I'm saved because Jesus died for me on the cross. Jesus paid my price, a price I could never pay myself. That price paid one time was enough to save me eternally and thus I will be with God in heaven.  Thank you for letting me share something t...

Mother's Day

Image
Happy Mother's Day to each of you, I hope this Mother's day was filled with countless blessings.  This blog will be a bit different so please bare with me on my ramblings. Mother's day isn't easy for everyone, some find it to be a very difficult or challenging day.  I happen to be one of those people.  This year was very good, filled with a weekend of activities with my own mother and making some extra special memories along the way.  Yet as Sunday drew to a close my heart felt a very familiar ache and emptiness.   My hearts deepest and strongest desire has been to be a mother.  However, God has had a far different plan and purpose for my life.  I am beyond blessed to have lived a life in which I have been surrounded by babies and children who have remained constant in my life as they have grown into amazing adults and still they are very much a part of my life.  The gift that the parents of these children have given me is utterly...

Overcoming Self-Doubt

Image
This past weekend I hosted my first Ladies' Tea Luncheon. It was a great success, with multiple area businesses donating and posting my flyer to help promote the event. However, none of it would have come together if God wasn't guiding me.  Since journey began of starting my own business God has been my strength and my guiding force. He's directed me, stopped me from going the wrong direction (when I listened to Him), and carried me through countless moments of doubt.   Let me explain about my doubt. Every ounce of doubt I've dealt with has been self-doubt. Questioning myself on whether I can do this or that. Fear of stepping out of my comfort zone and taking not just steps but actually taking leaps. When you hear the term "taking a leap of faith" believe me I'm walking, living, breathing example of doing just that!  When I find myself starting to doubt and question my path God sends me a small blessing to show me that He's got me and I...

Friendship

Image
What does friendship mean to you?  Websters Dictionary defines friendship as the state of being friends;  the quality or state of  being friendly.  For me friendship is the relationship I have with my friends, some are more casual while others are stronger and deeper. If I were to make a list of all the people I know there would be a great number of names on that list, but I wouldn't categorize them all as friends, therefore I don't have a true friendship with them all.  I have some that would are simply acquaintances, others that are simply people I know but I have no actual relationship with them at all, and still others that I may be forced to associate with, but keep them at a distance and never develop any type of real relationship with at all.  While I choose to treat those people with respect and kindness, I would not consider there to be any type of friendship between them and myself.  I do, however, have many on that list of names that I am bl...
