Running away

So often I hear of individuals wanting to run away, as a matter of fact, more people want to run away as adults than ever did as children.  Most of us know we can't just pack up a bag and leave, we have too many responsibilities and too much invested in the life we are currently living.  Then there are those moments when our world has fallen in around us, someone or something has happened that alters our universe, it could be a death, divorce, violent act, etc.  All we want to do is pack up and run, get away and never look back.  Start over someplace different with people who don't know us and don't know our story.  Is that even possible?

No, in actuality that really isn't possible at all.  Running away does nothing but move us to a new location and very soon afterwards our situation and the problems involved in that situation will once again find us.  The only difference is we won't have our supports in place to help us cope and conquer.  Running away from problems is a race you will NEVER win.  Find the support you need to help you solve your problems or at least make them manageable and you will eventually WIN your own personal race.
